From October 2005 until September 2006, Bravo Company, 2nd Special Troops Battalion has been fielding the Army?s new Joint Network Node (JNN) equipment. In June 2006, the company was the test company for this new signal technology during the Brigades deployment to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. During the deployment, both JNN Platoons provided digital and voice service to the BCT with a 100% reliability rate. The excellence of the company provided the Operational Test Command a realistic look at what the new equipment can provide to Brigade Combat Teams throughout the Army. In October 2006, the Bulldogs deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08. The Bulldogs were providing direct support to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team ?Black Jack?, 1st Cavalry Division and general support to two Forward Operating Bases in the Baghdad Area. This support includes Voice and Digital connectivity with JNN, EPLRS Network Management, and FM RETRANS throughout the BCT AOR.
